About Hyperbarics

What is the difference between Mild Hyperbarics and High Pressure Hyperbarics?

Mild Hyperbarics is generally a pressure protocol up to 1.3 ATA or 4 psi.
High Pressure Hyperbarics involves pressures above 1.5 ATA.

mHBOT (Soft Chamber) vs. HBOT (Hard Chamber)

A study sponsored by the Canadian government compared the results of mild and high-pressure hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapies for children with cerebral palsy, a severe brain disorder. Researchers assumed that the mild portable chambers would prove to be less effective than full-pressure chambers and could be disqualified as a valid form of treatment for this condition. Consequently they placed the control group of children in mild pressure chambers. To their surprise, the mild hyperbaric chambers were just as effective in bringing about clinically significant improvements as the full-pressure chambers, and within the same period of time (The Lancet, Vol 357, Feb. 24, 2001).
These results were recently cross-validated by an even more extensive, controlled nine-year study conducted by Dr. Arun Mukherjee, Senior Consultant in Internal Medicine, Majeedia Hospital, and Hamdard University, New Delhi, India (presented at the International HBOT2010 Symposium July 24, 2010).

Aloha Hyperbarics is a facility specializing in mild-pressure Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber Therapy (HBOT). HBOT saturates all the cells, tissue, blood, plasma, organs, and the entire human body with oxygen.  Oxygen is the most essential element utilized by the human body.  For years, oxygen has aided in the healing of the sick and wounded. Breathing oxygen helps the lungs and there is some tissue saturation.  Under mild atmospheric pressure like the chamber produces, the chamber delivers a higher level of oxygen to all the tissue in your body, increasing blood flow to your capillaries and increasing circulation.

What if this type of treatment were utilized to help people in all walks of life, healthy and sick? For the sick, how about a boost to the immune system!  Aren’t most illnesses caused by an attack on the immune system of some type? And for the healthy who are trying to look and feel their best, wouldn’t a boost to the immune system help you become stronger, look and feel better too?  Let’s face it.  With all the toxins in the environment most people are taking some type of antioxidant vitamins to stay healthy. Antioxidants help prevent free radicals from damaging your cells. Notice the word prevent.  What about a treatment that could repair damaged cells and possibly heal them completely?  We could alluse a treatment like that, for some it could be life changing.  For others just make you feel and look younger.

Whether your use is to help with a disease or for a cosmetic purpose to look better. HBOT is the wave of the future.  The FDA has only approved this unit for Acute Mountain Sickness, so insurance will not cover these treatments.  In Europe and Asia, HBOT is used to treat all types of diseases.  If you do your own research, you will find that many people’s lives have been dramatically changed for the better due to HBOT.  We believe strongly that HBOT will help just about everyone.

HBOT can help in these areas of concern:

  1. Anti-Aging - strengthens all the tissue in the body.
  2. Boost to Immune System – enriches blood and plasma with oxygen which strengthens your immune system.
  3. Increased Circulation - helps blood flow to your extremities.
  4. Cell oxidation - It’s like helping a plant grow. Just water with a little oxygen.
  5. Oxygen is beneficial to healing of all types.
